Peter is a Barrister (Qld, NSW, High Court) handling matters in public law; policy design; legislation review; employment and industrial law; human rights; mental health; administrative and constitutional law; planning and environment; land and resources; commercialisation. He was perviously a Nationally Accredited Mediator, registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner; and member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal (MHRT). He is presently a longstanding member of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).
Peter also provides policy capacity services under the Policy Skills banner and as Decisive Consultants.
Peter is a Director of national grains representative Grain Producers Australia Ltd and arts body The Story Project Ltd.
He is also a Governor of World Wide Fund For Nature Australia (WWF)
He wrote The Australian Policy Handbook (now in its 7th edition) with Professor Glyn Davis, Professor Catherine Althaus, Dr Sarah Ball and David Threlfall.

After completing a BA (1st Class Honours) majoring in Psychology in 1979 Peter completed his law degree LLB (1st Class Honours) at Queensland University of Technology in 1989. He was a registered psychologist from 1980 to 2011 and is a practising barrister (first call 1990) based in Brisbane with chambers at Level 15, Inns of Court.
